JASON WASHBURN HEAD BASEBALL COACH
|
Coach Jason Washburn enters his fourth year as coach of the Cavaliers. Prior to opening the doors at College Park Coach Washburn served as head coach at Willis High School, guiding them to the Regional Semifinals and Regional Quarterfinals in 2001 and 2002, respectively. He took over the reigns of the Spring High School baseball program in 2003 and advanced to the semifinals of the State Tournament in 2004. He also served two seasons as the varsity assistant for the Kingwood Mustangs and was the sophomore coach at The Woodlands High School in 1997. Washburn was selected by fellow Houston area coaches in 2001 to coach in the Houston Area Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game and spent the 2002 summer coaching for Team Florida USA. After graduating from Conroe HS in 1990, Coach Washburn went on to play baseball at Lee Jr. College. He then became a member of the 1993 Southwest Conference champion Texas A&M baseball team. In 1994 and 1995 Washburn had the privilege of serving as a student-coach under longtime Aggie skipper and current head coach at Sam Houston State University, Mark Johnson, while earning a degree in kinesiology. Coach Washburn and his wife have been married for fourteen years and have three wonderful children.

ETHAN BARTON ASST COACH

Coach Barton is starting his first year on the Cavalier coaching staff. A 1998 graduate of Klein Oak High School, he played high school ball for four years, and the former Panther played in the 1998 Houston Area High School All Star Game. Barton continued his baseball career at Dallas Baptist University where he played for the 2001 NAIA All Star Team that toured the Czech Republic. He was a team captain at Dallas Baptist his senior year in 2003.
Coach Barton teaches Social Studies at Knox Junior High; his wife of four years teaches at Hailey Elementary, and they have one daughter. |

ADRIAN CORTEZ JV COACH

Coach Cortez is in his third year on the Cavalier staff. He is in his eleventh year coaching as he spent his first four years at Dueitt Middle School in Spring ISD coaching football and track. More recently, before joining College Park, he spent three years coaching the sophomore baseball team at Spring High School. Growing up in a military family, Coach Cortez spent much time on both coasts and graduated from high school in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He began college at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and eventually transferred to Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi from where he graduated in 1999. Coach Cortez has been married for seven years to his wife, who is a teacher in Magnolia ISD. Their daughter and future Cavalier is four years old.

Coach Dumlao will be starting his first year on the Cavaliers coaching staff with the 2009 season. Coach lettered in both football and baseball, earning All District Honorable Mention in both as a split end and second baseman while at Alief Hastings HS from which he graduated in 1988. He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX, where he also played Lumberjack Baseball as a walk-on. He has been in education for 13 years and has coached baseball for 10 years, most recently at Cy Springs. During his tenure at Cy Springs he was selected to coach at the Houston Area Baseball Coaches’ Association All Star Game. He and his wife of four years have two children, a son 3 and a daughter 22 months.

MATT HEMBERGER ASST COACH

Coach Hemberger is starting his first year with the Cavaliers baseball program. After playing varsity baseball as a pitcher/middle infielder and graduating from Mansfield High School (DFW area) with honors, Hemberger decided to pursue his education at Texas A&M University. Coach Hemberger spent several years as a student pastor at a local church here in The Woodlands and then did a short stint in the business world as a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep. His desire to work with students, paired with his passion for the game of baseball called him back to the field of teaching and coaching. Coach Hemberger is now teaching Communication Applications at McCullough Junior High. He and his wife, who teaches 4th grade in Klein, live in Spring with their beloved Labrador Retriever. Coach Hemberger also enjoys competing in triathlons, running and speaking to student groups all over Texas. |

LEE KOSLOSKY ASST VARSITY COACH

Coach Koslosky is beginning his fifth year at College Park. Prior to College Park, Koslosky spent 8 years in Klein Independent School District. His first four years were spent at Klein Intermediate where he coached football and track. In the spring of 1999, Koslosky became the campus athletic coordinator/head football coach at Klein Intermediate where he remained for two years. In the spring of 2001, Koslosky was promoted to Klein Forest High School where he coached football and baseball. In 2004, Koslosky was named the head baseball coach at Klein Forest, where he stayed for one year. Coach Koslosky is a member of the Texas High School Coaches Association, Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association, and the Greater Houston Area Baseball Coaches Association. He has been married to his wife for eight years and they have one son age five, and a beautiful baby girl born Jan 25. |

Coach McIlvoy is in his third year with the Cavalier Baseball Program. Before coming to College Park he served as an assistant at Spring High School for one year. He is a 2002 graduate of the University of Oklahoma. Before moving to Texas he taught for one year in Oklahoma where he coached baseball and softball. Coach McIlvoy has been married to for six years. His wife is a teacher in Spring ISD. They have one son who was born last summer. |
